Research

In recent years, as a principal investigator, Prof. Sun has managed more than 20 research projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China (2022, 2019, 2017, and 2011), the National Key R&D Program of China, the Program for New Century Excellent Talents in Fujian Province, the Innovation Fund of CNPC, the Natural Science Foundation of Fujian Province, and various projects commissioned by CNPC. He has published over 70 papers as corresponding or first author, obtained 22 authorized patents as the primary inventor, won 2 provincial and ministerial science and technology awards, and co-authored 1 monograph.

Main Research Interests:

1. Clean pretreatment technologies for the separation/fractionation of hemicellulose, cellulose, and lignin components  

2. Catalytic preparation technologies for fine chemicals derived from hemicellulose C5 sugars  

3. Catalytic preparation technologies for fine chemicals derived from cellulose C6 sugars  

4. Development of preparation and application technologies for bio-based materials
