At 15:00 p.m. on July 27, the seventy-fifth Energy Forum was held in Room A203 of Hemu Building. The forum was chaired by Yu Yan, a researcher of the International Bamboo and Rattan Center and hosted by Zheng Zhifeng, Professor of the College of Energy. Li Shuirong, Wang Duo, Liu Jian, Gan Lihui, Ye Yueyuan and some students were present. The theme of the forum is to build a multi-scale wood cell wall structure model to promote efficient biomass transformation.

At the beginning of the forum, Yu Yan introduced the general situation of the International Bamboo and Rattan Organization to help them obtain a general understanding of the purpose and direction of the establishment of the Bamboo and Rattan Center Research Institute. Then, Mr. Yu gave a speech on the theme of Building a multi-scale wood cell wall structure model to promote efficient transformation of biomass. Firstly, he introduced the scientific significance of building multi-scale wood cell wall structure model, including predicting the anisotropy of wood shrinkage and swelling, as well as the development of cell wall-like technology, and analyzed the results of related research. Secondly, the chemical composition of Uygur parenchyma cells, the orientation of macromolecule in cell wall (polarized infrared spectroscopy), the orientation of macromolecule in bamboo fiber cell wall and the interaction of macromolecule in cell wall were introduced by Yu. Having explained the principle and process of preparation and application of bamboo-based nanocellulose and the modification of wood cell wall furfuryl alcohol resin, Mr. Yu demonstrated the finished products produced by the Institute of Bamboo and Rattan Center through relevant experimental videos.

Finally, the teachers and students who participated in the forum had a heated discussion about the experimental products showed in the video. The seventy-fifth session of the forum ended satisfactorily with applause.
