Thirty-first Energy Forum

On December16th 2015, we held the Thirty-first Energy Forum in Hemu building .We invited the famous environmental policy expert Michael Shellenberger as the forum speaker. Li Ning, dean of College of Energy, also attended the forum.

Shellenberger Michael is an American writer, an expert on environmental policy, and also the chairman of Institute Breakthrough. He was awarded the title of heroes of the environment in the 2008 《Time》 magazine, Green Book Award of the Stevens center 2008 science fiction, co-edited 《Love Your Monsters》(2011), and co-authored with Houghton Mifflin for 《break through》(2007) and《the death of Environmentalism》(2004). He and his partner, Nordhaus Ted, are also known as eco modern and eco pragmatic .This time, the theme of his speech is Ecological Modernism: giving environment class to Chinese . Michael Shellenberger firstly told about ecological environment at the beginning of the forum,called on us to make more space for nature. Then, he started from many aspects, to provide us with the specific methodsformaking more space for nature. In addition, he also analyzed several countries’ energy development situation in the world such as the United States and India. Finally, Shellenberger Michael made a few suggestions for China's road of development, which made students benefit a lot.
