June 21, Xiamen University, College of Energy International Summer School and his party of 42 people went to the Fuqing nuclear power for research and exchanges. The visit was an important event in this teaching summer school. Led by the Vice Party Secretary Ma Zhaohai, there were Nuclear Energy Institute director Ran Guang, Professor Yao Jun, Professor Wang Lu Min from the University of Michigan, Professor Flemin and Professor Mark from University of Birmingham along with students from Xiamen University, the University of Michigan, University of Leeds and the University of Birmingham in the visiting delegation.

The visiting delegation of Xiamen University College of Energy and Fujian Fuqing Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. held a seminar on the theme. The Party Committee and Discipline Committee of Fuqing Nuclear Power Plant Zhu Xueshu, the Registrar of Companies deputy chief engineer at the Design Management XueJunfeng, Director of Human Resources Hu Teng and Director of training Caili Yong attended the exchange forum. Ms. Cao Wei introduced the development and construction management of Fuqing nuclear power, and also explained Hualong the 1st reactor technical safety features and design ideas Fuqing 5 and 6 unit uses. Ma Zhaohai, who introduced the visitors the development of college of energy, thanked Fuqing Nuclear Power Plant and their support to the summer learning activities. On the exchanges forum, both native and foreign students offered some questions to the development of nuclear power, such as what nuclear power plants regarding protection are using against nuclear leakage areas, how seawater cooling system bring the surrounding ocean temperature change and nuclear power plants ability to resist natural disasters, etc., Engineers from Fuqing Nuclear Power Plant made explanation to them one by one. In addition, students from the College of Energy and the staff discussed the nuclear emergency organization of Fuqing nuclear power plant, usage of reactor control rod, nuclear power plant probabilistic safety analysis applications, radiation monitoring condition and the working environment. Meanwhile, the conduct of nuclear power to the public was well carried out, and the possibility of future cooperation in scientific research, internships and employment was discussed.

Fuqing nuclear power units in million kilowatt size are the most automatic nuclear power units of China, and also stand for the highest degree of localization of nuclear power, which are very safe. Its 5 and 6 units using Chinese independent third generation nuclear power technology - "Hualong the 1st", which is the first demonstration project of nuclear power.
