“Here comes Chairman Mao!” The applause rang.
“Welcome! I’m Mao Ge from Ningde Nuclear Power Plant and they like to call me Chairman Mao. Ha-ha!”
On the morning of July 30th, 2016, all the members of nuclear power practice team from College of Energy met with President Mao Ge from Ningde Nuclear Power Plant and participated in a charitable activity titled “Peace Hiking”. After the activity, President Mao showed us around the nuclear power exhibition hall. After lunch, we took a visit to the stadium inside the factory and had talks covering several topics.
Today, a hiking activity of 2016 Ningde Nuclear Power titled “Health goes with me” starts! We are fortunate enough to go with the staff from Ningde Nuclear Power. Alongside the road, colleagues from the factory gave us a lot of help and care, making us realize the meaning and value of persistence, encouragement and team spirit.

After the visit and lunch, we started to be fond of the factory. Some teammates even decided to get a job in Ningde Nuclear Power after graduation, which got huge support from the chairman. The factory’s rigorous and precise teamwork and serious attitudes left us a deep impression.

At 2 pm, Chairman Mao, along with us, went to have a cup of tea and had a discussion about the development of nuclear power. Chairman Mao highlighted the complex relationships among social elements and illustrated their effects. Chairman also analyzed people’s reaction and attitudes towards nuclear power. Besides, Mao answered our teammates’ questions and helped us understand the development of energy industry at home and abroad.

The special day left us too many fantastic memories and fulfillment with satisfaction took all fatigue away. The activity was surely an access to knowledge and showed us the road to a brighter future!
