At 12:45, 3rd of November, the first general meeting of the Students' Union and the Publicity Center of the Youth League of College of Energy was held. Secretary of Communist Youth League Mr. Gong Shufeng and counselor Miss Huang Shiyu, along with all members of presidium, cadres and officers of every department attended the meeting, which was hosted by Wang Tianyu, director of Secretariat.
During the meeting, the hostess introduced teachers, members of presidium and cadres of the departments, after which directors of each department reported on the work done in the previous week, deployed specific work arrangements for the following week and expressed expectations and hopes for future development of their department.
Afterwards, Secretary of the general branch of College of Energy of the League, Gao Yuxuan, summarized the problems found since the beginning of the new term, pointed out that the cadres should be explicit about their identity of a member of Students’ Union and do their own work at the same time play a leading role, and actively promote students to participate in various activities. He also pointed out that all members should have a sense of resistance under harsh demands and actively cooperate with the college and the Students’ Union as well as the League.
In the following statement, Lai Tianyi, President of the Students’ Union, pointed out that although our college is young and lack rich experiences, this is just one of our advantage on the other hand, which means that there is no previous rules to restrict us. All members should find a sense of belonging, harvest growth. She stressed that “Sweep your house before conquering the world.” Secondly, she hopes that every cadres show respect to each other. Each member have a sense of mission, have a love for the work, and also cherish the assumption and pay of cadres and officers.
Next, counselor Miss. Huang Shiyu addressed the issue of attitude, pointing out that we should start self-education, self-management and self-service.
Finally, Secretary of Communist Youth League Mr. Gong Shufeng made a conclusion of the meeting. He pointed out that we can get a lot from student work. He also reminded all the students present to handle the relationship between study and work. Mr. Gong Shufeng also called on all students to actively participate in volunteer activities. He hoped all members can unite, do a good job, make achievements, so that tour college would stand out among other colleges.
