The 4th EO Youth Summer Field Trip Concluding Conference was held on the Duke Kunshan University campus on October 23rd. The conference was well attended by experts and directors from China Southern Power Grid Research Institute, China Electricity Council, Energy Foundation China etc. Representatives of the ten research teams, who came from different universities around the world, presented their field trip findings at the conference. The social practice team DaoDian stood out from others teams and was awarded the highest award for their outstanding research, another team from Technische Universitaet München which include three students from the College of Energy at XMU won the second place.

Sponsored by Energy Observer magazine and organized by the DukeKunshanUniversity, the Youth Summer Field Trip has been given attention since it was launched at July. Five teams from the College of Energy applied forregistration, and DaoDian entered intothefinal and won the first award for their research methodology, the significance of their research topic, and the completion rate of their projects.
DaoDian chose DongfushanIslandsas their destination. During the journey, members made the estimation of the electricity consumption of the local people from door to door and the micro-grid system in use. With their experience and the guidance of teacher Zhang Fengyan, DaoDian put forwardtheir suggestion and providedsubsequentreferenceduringdevelopment.
This is the second time that our students had took parts in the 4th Energy Observer Youth Summer Field Trip, and the awards affirmed our hard work. Hope next year, social practice team from the College of Energy can stillmake brilliant achievements.
