As we know, it is exactly the campus safety that provides our students a more harmonious and cozier daily life. So on September 12th, the first day of school, the College of Energy held an activity of safety education including the indoor lectures and the outdoor lesson.
At 3:00 pm in the afternoon, our college held a lecture in Xuewu Building. 55 undergraduates and 52 graduates have been involved.
Firstly, teacher Xiaohui Hu gave a lecture about how to prevent the accident in labs. She showed the students more than 100 accidents and pictures. Then, she also associated the accidents with the actual situation of our college.
Then, teacher Jin Chen taught the students the fundamental knowledge of electric shock, how to use the usual electric appliance, what to pay attention to about electricity in labs, what to do when comes to electric shock and how to deal with electrical fire. And he also showed some relevant accidents.
After the lecture, teacher Xiaodong Ye from the Security Department provided students an outdoor lesson about fire education including how to use the fire extinguisher, how to escape in time when fire happens and how to prevent fire. Then, all the students were allowed to try the fire extinguisher.
In all, safety education is always the key emphasis in the daily work of our college. And through this activity, all the students and teachers have strengthened their awareness of campus safety and that is sure to have a far-reaching significance on establishing a harmonious and cozier campus life.
