In order to promote the talents internationalization and the “2+2” undergraduates joint training project between Birmingham University and our college, on the morning of MAR.17th, by the leading of adjunct professor Yao Jun of our college, director of the International Affairs in the Energy Research Institute of Birmingham University Liu Bing visited our college.

    Firstly, director Liu attended the introduction meeting of the project, he introduced the circumstances of Birmingham University, the joint training project and the cooperation with CGNPC in details, answered various of questions asked by the attenders, and encouraged them to make sufficient preparation, to build a solid function and to develop comprehensively.

    Then director Liu had an informal discussion with dean Li Ning and secretary Sun Ziguang, they talked deeply in the present bilateral cooperation and the future cooperation development, including the present “2+2” undergraduate joint training project, summer school and the projects that need to be carried out, such as “3+1”, “1+1”graduate students joint training project，Newton project and on-the-job personal education training.

    Birmingham University is located in the second largest city-Birmingham. It was founded in 1825 and is the first “red brick” university in Britain. It is the member of the ivy league “Russell group”, member of the “M5” university union, member of the international organization “University 21”. Birmingham University enjoys high reputation for its high training quality and high research level. It ranks NO.82 in the QS world university rankings.

    In 2015, our university signed an agreement of the “2+2” undergraduate joint training project, and in the next year, three outstanding students in the class of 2014 of new energy science and engineering major was selected into this project, and now they are studying in UK. Besides, in order to provide a better international platform for our college students, our college is positively developing the “2+2” undergraduates joint training project with Tsinghua university, Tai Wan as well.
