In order to improve the teaching ability of young teachers, show their teaching charm, and provide them with a platform to exchange teaching experience and show their teaching level, on April 12, 2018, the Department Trade Union and the Ministry of Education jointly organized the Third Competition of Young Teachers’ Teaching Skills Competition of in the College of Energy,  Xiamen University. The competition was hosted by Zhang Zhengyi, the chairman of the Department Labor Union, and invited Professor Yang Wenchuan, a judge of the Xiamen University Young Teachers’ Teaching Skills Competition, as the guiding expert. The judges were  Professor Wang Zhaolin, Vice Professor Guo Qixun, Vice Professor Wu Yichun and Vice Professor Zhao Yingjun.

        After fully preparation, the eight young teachers participating in the competition respectively gave a 20-minute teaching demonstration and showed their own teaching styles. The judges gave professional comments and specific guidance to each young teacher. After fierce competition, Zhang Yaoli won the first prize in the competition. Liu Jian and Zheng Jianxiang won the second and third place respectively. The teachers  either participating in the competition or watching the competition said that they had great gains and it wasvery helpful for the improvement of their teaching level.

        Since the First Young Teachers’ Teaching Skills Competition held in 2016,  it has been the third time for the college to hold the competition College of Energy has formed a system to require every newly-recruited teacher to take part in this competition. Since the establishment in 2013, College of Energy has been continuously improving the quality of undergraduate teaching, attaching importance to the training of young teachers' teaching ability, and has achieved good results in this regard.
