In order to study Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the spirit of the Nineteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and to deeply understand Xi Jinping's series of important expositions on young people's growth and success, to guide young students to devote themselves to social practice, to understand the national conditions and to penetrate into society and to understand China in practice, the summer social practice ceremony and security education conference of 2018 was held at 12:30 on 19 July at Room A221 in the College of Energy. Sun Jia, Vice Secretary of the Party Committee, Huang Shiyu, Counselor, Liu Xingyu, Vice Secretary of the Regiment general branch of the Fifth League, Xie Rongshun, Vice Chairman of the Student Union, and all the practitioners were present at the meeting. The meeting was sponsored by the Practice Department of the outh League general branch, and Cao Kexin was the host of the meeting.

      At the beginning of the meeting, the counselor, Huang Shiyu, came to the stage to speak. She clarified the significant role of social practice in the growth of contemporary college students. She hoped that students could participate in social practice to exercise themselves and develop their abilities, and lay a good foundation for the future. In addition, she emphasized that as a student of Xiamen University, the image of Xiamen University was what he represented when he went out of the university. She reminded everyone to pay attention to behavior in the process of social practice. She also hoped practitioners to show that students in Xiamen University were self-reliant and ceasing to be the best.

        Then, Liu Xingyu, Deputy Secretary of the Regiment general branch of the League, stressed the importance of social practice safety. She enumerated in detail all kinds of matters that students should pay attention to in the process of social practice, and reminded the team members to keep in mind at all times to ensure safety.

      Subsequently, Sun Jia, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, came to the stage to deliver a speech. She proposed that Three looking and one thinking should be done in social practice. Three looking required us to pay attention to the new achievements and developments since the reform and opening up, pay attention to history and understand people's livelihood. One thinking required us to think about the significance of the new energy discipline to China's development, and think about our future development in practice. Sun also pointed out that the students of Grade 2017 who participated in the conference were One-hundred-year sessions of Xiamen University. They should combine their sense of historical mission, responsibility with national conditions and social conditions in practice. Besides paying attention to safety, with prudent words and deeds, they should pay more attention to people's livelihood and give back to the society.

      Then, all the participants took a solemn oath under the leadership of Chen Jianyuan. The atmosphere was aroused to its climax.

      Finally, Sun Jia gave flags to the captains of social practice and wished them a successful completion of their tasks and fruitful results. The Summer Social Practice Exit Ceremony and Safety Education Conference ended with applause from students.

      The successful ceremony symbolizes the full start of the social practice work of our college in the summer of 2018. Its’s hoped that all the students can complete this practical task with earnest attitude and full enthusiasm, and actively promote the social practice work of our college to a higher level!
