On May 14th, the principal of the “2+2” project at the University of Birmingham, Dr. Tian Zhongbei, visited our College.

At the symposium, Dr. Tian introduced the situation of Birmingham University, the process and notices of application to the lower grade students. He also answered the questions raised by the participants in detail. After the symposium, Dr. Tian interviewed the applicants for the project in our college. In addition, Dr. Tian and Vice Dean of College Zhaolin Wang, Yannan Xie held a discussion on the current cooperation and the expansion of future cooperation between the two universities, which promoted the development of the “2+2” undergraduate joint training program between the University of Birmingham and Xiamen University, and advocated the internationalization of talent cultivation.

In 2015, Xiamen University signed a “2+2” undergraduate joint training agreement with the University of Birmingham. Currently, six students have successfully gone further study in the UK. The first three students have been admitted to the University of London and Imperial College London. In addition, our college is signing an undergraduate exchange program agreement with Tsinghua University in Taiwan, which will provide a better exchanging platform for students of College of Energy
