On the afternoon of November 16th, our college successfully held the safety education training activity for the 2018 freshman. Sun Jia, College deputy secretary of the party committee, Lin Jianhua from Campus Security Office, engineer Dong Shigang, and Gong Shufeng, secretary of the League Committee of the college, attended the event.

   Firstly, Dong Shigang, secretary of safety work in our college, gave a detailed explanation on the various safety rules and regulations to the 2018 freshmen in combination with practical cases, and comprehensively introduced the safety of electricity and chemical products in daily experiments and study.  He stressed that any work can’t be carried out without the awareness of safety and safety was the basis and premise of everything. To ensure the safety of personal and property, we should strengthen the awareness of safety and seriously regulate the operation of experiments.

        After the safety lecture, all 2018 freshmen gathered at the front of Hemu building. A comrade from campus security office taught how to use the fire extinguisher and so on. He firstly explained the types of common fire extinguishers, as well as their relative usages, advantages and disadvantages, and then explained the specific method to use the dry powder fire extinguisher. Finally, freshmen were divided into groups of three to carry out practical fire-fighting exercises. Through the on-the-spot operation, the freshmen’s fire emergency disposal capacity was improved to a new level.

        Our college has always attached great importance to safety work. The construction of a safe campus is the foundation and premise to run a university. Through this safety education activity, students expressed that they had a deeper understanding of how to prevent safety accidents and how to deal with safety accidents in a proper manner when the accident happened. Such being the case, their own safety consciousness has been improved very well, laying a solid foundation for the future study and scientific research.
