The College of Energy had held the report meeting of summer social practice at Room A221 in Hemu Building on October 10. College vice party secretary Jia Sun, assistant professor Shuirong Li, instructor Shufeng Gong and counsellor Shiyu Huang were present at the meeting, while Zhonghua Wang, Jiabin You and Xingyu Liu were specially invited as seniors. The report was hosted by Dong Xu, undergraduate who entered the college in 2018.

   Great successes were obtained by our college in the summer social practice of 2018. 100% of undergraduates entered in 2017 had joined in the ten practice teams, with four of these teams being chosen to be major teams of Xiamen University successfully and one being awarded the title of one of the 100 best practice teams of ‘China Survey’ in 2018.

   At the meeting, ten teams demonstrated their outcomes methodically and interacted with seniors and teachers exhaustively, which generated a good atmosphere.

   The first team launched their practice closely around the theme of ‘keep history in mind, keep the faith in heart, and contribute to the new era in teenage years’. They clarified the responsibility that student party members should shoulder and experienced the accomplishment that 40 years of economic reform had brought to people. Their wonderful report earned critical acclaim from teachers, which also made a good start.

   The next team demonstrated their research result and interview notes, which showed how Alcohol-group fuels were developing and would develop.

   Then another team took how Guangze county and Taining county processed agricultural and forestry waste for examples, in order to put forward their viewpoints and give their advice.

   Other seven teams displayed their research results in sequence as well, and gained recognition and suggestions from teachers and seniors.

   In the last session, College vice party secretary Jia Sun commented and drew conclusion to the summer social practice and the report of this year. She fully affirmed the accomplishment students achieved, and meanwhile suggested students to rely more on data during their research. She also encouraged students to comprehend people’s view of new energy’s application through practicing, so that they could have an insight into how new energy was able to be applied in every field and thus promoted their professionalism and recognition to their specialty. At last, Mrs. Sun expressed the expectation that new undergraduates would have a more thorough consideration based on the practice report, and participate in social practice solidly by combining other practices so as to make a better preparation for society.

  Up to now, ten teams from College of Energy have all finished their reports. it’s expected that every student summarize what they had obtained and reaped, can study and live in enthusiasm, and to contribute to the promotion of ‘Double-First Class’ initiative and the construction of the new era!
