From Sept. 17th to 18th, the Founding Conference of Irradiation Branch of Chinese Nuclear Society and the Advanced Forum of Irradiation Effects were held in Chengdu. Chinese Nuclear Society and Nuclear Power Institute of China hosted the conference jointly, and Xiamen University was one of the initiators.

The conference had a strong lineup of experts, 3 academicians involved. Especially, Professor Ran Guang and engineer Huang Jinchi got a privileged invitation on behalf of College of Energy in Xiamen University.

On the morning of Sept 17th, the Founding Conference was officially launched. With an unanimous vote, the Irradiation Branch of Chinese Nuclear Society had been established formally.

Then on the afternoon, the first congress of members was held and members present elected the new session of council together. Ran Guang in Xiamen University was nominated as one of the 8 vice chairmen.

On Sept 18th, following the opening of the Advanced Forum of Irradiation, masters from diverse fields delivered lectures in turns, which helped develop a friendly interacting atmosphere. Among those, professor Ran Guang gave his report, “The Living Situation and Application on Irradiation Behavior of Ion Accelerators and TEM Online Facilities”. The report aimed at the issues calling for attention in the research process of Irradiation Behavior and the experience on construction of online facilities in Xiamen University, with a clear logic and specific and precise data, which indicated Professor Ran Guang’ rigorous attitude and solid foundation in science, and also represented the respectable style among teachers in Xiamen University.
