On September 10th, the student party branch of the college set up a volunteer team to welcome new students. By taking the welcome work as a vivid practice of “gaining a good understanding of the Party Constitution, Party regulations, and General Secretary Xi Jinping's major policy addresses and to meet Party standards”, the freshmen were deeply impressed by act of studying and educating the spirit of party members in three aspects of passing on, helping and leading.

        Under the guidance of school and college leaders and the leadership of party members, the volunteers at sites of school bus parking, baggage collection, student activity center registration points and dormitory registration points were enthusiastic and had a clear division of labor. Some prepared materials in advance and arranged the welcome venue, guided the freshmen to the registration points and assisted the freshmen to complete registration, and some helped to look after the luggage, guided the freshmen to the dormitory area.

    Party members and student volunteers not only contacted freshmen through online docking during the summer vacation to better understand their needs in advance and answered questions raised by freshmen, but also conveyed their feelings about university study and life to freshmen with the help of the prepared letters.

    At night, party members visited the dormitories one by one, striving to help freshmen effectively and realistically solve problems such as fetching water, getting access to electricity, as well as dormitory safety and university life.

    This morning, when President Rong Zhang of Xiamen University came to the registration office of the student activity center to learn about the registration situation, he not only expressed concern about the registration situation of the students, talked with the only foreign student in our college, and expressed recognition and encouragement to the venue arrangement and the orientation work of our college.

    After completing registration procedures, every newcomer will get a school bag and an umbrella ang they can choose placards printed mascot Xiao Yuan and other slogans and took photos later.

    On the 11th, all the freshmen finished the registration. The freshmen of grade 2018 said they were impressed by the volunteers' enthusiasm and were looking forward to the next four years at the College of Energy.
