Our students performed well in the first national college student’s renewable energy technology competition

    From August 17 to 19, 2018, the national final of the first national college student’s renewable energy science and technology competition, hosted by Renewable Energy Society and undertaken by the National New Energy Science and Engineering Professional Union, with the theme as green energy, innovation and leadership, was held successfully inNorth China Electric Power University. The competition received positive responses from 108 universities and colleges across the country, with more than 3,000 college students and over 500 entries, 99 of which entered the final stage after preliminary competition.

    Our college attached great importance to the preparatory work of this competition and actively mobilized teachers and students to participate in. Under the guidance of professor Yunquan Liu of our school, the team led by Shaoji Wu, a postgraduate student in 2016, was selected as the finalist and won the second prize in the final for their work sludge desiccation -- development of new pyrolysis process and equipment. Through the exchange and discussion with excellent students from other universities, the students gained a lot of valuable experience and broadened their knowledge of research direction, which will be of great help to their future study and scientific research.

    It is reported that the competition is held by the Chinese Renewable Energy Institute in response to the advocation- promote energy production and consumption revolution, building low-carbon clean, safe and efficient energy system proposed by the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, aiming to guide students to combine passion and major national strategic needs and thus improve college students' innovative ability.
