On 28th Augest,2018, the final of the 4th Fujian Province’s “Internet +” Venture Contest came to a successful end in Xiamen University. 75 projects from 25 universities showed up in this competition. Our project” Yitiansitian” stood out and won the gold award of “Youth’s Journey to build a Red Dream”. The project instructor Xianhai Zeng won the title of Top 10 outstanding innovation and entrepreneurship mentors of Fujian province. Four projects in total of our university won the gold award.
The project was directed by the director of the Institute of Biomass, doctoral tutor Xianhai Zeng. Doctoral student, Yunchao Feng, majoring in energy and chemical engineering, served as project director, Mengzhu Li, Xiaoyu Zhao and Ting Wang from the Research Group of Biomass Chemical Transformation, and undergraduate students from grade 2017, Yi Liu and Lukuan Hao are the key team members of the project. There are also graduate students majoring in chemical engineering and economic management in the team. The project aims to extract xylose oligosaccharide from agricultural and forestry waste, turn waste into treasure and increase farmers' income. At the same time, the project also aims to alleviate the environmental problems caused by the burning of agricultural and forestry wastes and create an environment-friendly entrepreneurial enterprise.
The project received professional guidance from Qing Zhang, the teacher from the Youth League Committee. In the final stage, Shufeng Gong, secretary of the Youth League Committee of the college, led the team members to move from Xiang 'an campus to Siming campus for a one-week exclusive training. The team members devoted themselves to the intense preparation. The leaders of the college attached great importance to team preparation. Jia Sun, deputy secretary of the party committee of the college, gave all-round guidance to the project in the training room for many times, and discussed with the team members repeatedly.
On the day of the final, the team members played calmly and steadily, and finally won the gold award of the track of the “Youth’s Journey to build a Red Dream” with a score of 82.83. At the same time, team members after the game were invited to a special interview by the Fujian Comprehensive Channel and education news center of Fujian Provincial Department.
