On the morning of December 12, National Distinguished Young Scholars, Cheung Kong Scholar, Beijing Forestry University Professor Xu Feng was invited to visit our college for exchange and brought a lecture entitled "Research on the separation of biomass components in woods and the preparation of functional materials" for teachers and students. The report was presided over by Professor Lin Lu, vice president of our college. Sun Ziguang, party secratary of College of Energy XMU and the director of the Institute of Biological Energy Zeng Xianhai attended the seminar.

Biomass is the largest renewable resource on earth. Developing new technologies to transform biomass into fuel energy and chemicals is one of the major tools to solve the current energy and environmental crisis. In the report, Professor Xu introduced the achievements of her team in the pretreatment and separation of biomass components in recent years, highlighting the links between the bonding mechanism and separation of the three major components of biomass. In addition, Professor Xu also introduced her team's research progress in biomass chemicals and materials, and expressed confidence firmly in the development of bioenergy.

The report was very exciting. Professor Xu conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions with teachers and students after the report was over. The whole seminar ended with warm applause from teachers and students.
